Horse Logging and Woodland Craft Day 19th August 2017

Tottington Woods Small Dole

Tottington Woodlanders staged this event which was well attended on a warm Saturday. Entry and parking was free.

Various exhibitors attended to demonstrate traditional crafts set amongst the trees including a pole lathe and trug making. Under the gazebos, carvings and turned items were on show.

A feature of the day, was the transport of a felled log by a horse drawn trailer and the subsequent planking by a portable sawmill.

The whole event was undertaken by volunteers. Details of the organizations involved can be seen at the following web sites.
